Acceptance testing of air conditioning systems according to DIN EN 12599
According to the German Construction Contract Procedures (VOB) Part C, an acceptance test must be carried out after the installation of air-conditioning systems (HVAC systems). The corresponding procedure is described in DIN EN 12599. The acceptance test must be carried out no later than 12 working days after completion, after which responsibility passes to the client. All contractual and technical specifications must be checked as part of the acceptance and documented in writing.
A completeness check checks whether the air conditioning system has been fully installed and whether all requirements of the contract, regulations, standards, guidelines and technical rules have been met. The functional tests demonstrate the operational capability of the air conditioning system and its compliance with the agreed requirements. This test determines whether the individual components of the air conditioning system, such as air filters, fans, air heaters, air coolers, humidifiers, control devices, etc., are installed correctly and are effective. The functional measurements determine whether the air conditioning system meets the agreed conditions and reaches the target values, e.g. air volume flow, air temperature, air humidity.
